HISTORY ASPECTS: The ATR 42-600 registered N400JX is part of the modern turboprop fleet operated by JSX, a public charter airline known for its boutique-style regional air service. Built through a collaboration between Airbus and Leonardo (ATR), the ATR 42-600 is a short-haul regional aircraft designed for efficiency, reliability, and access to smaller airports with limited infrastructure. It features upgraded avionics, improved cabin comfort, and fuel-efficient turboprop engines, making it well-suited for short regional routes. N400JX supports JSX’s unique semi-private travel model, which focuses on quick boarding, reduced airport congestion, and point-to-point service between select airports in the United States. The aircraft typically operates short regional flights connecting private terminals and fixed-base operators in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. Its ability to operate from shorter runways allows JSX to serve airports that are often more convenient than major commercial hubs, offering passengers a streamlined alternative to traditional airline travel. The ATR 42-600 family has become a key aircraft in regional aviation worldwide due to its low operating costs and strong performance on short sectors. While not associated with military conflicts, the type has been widely used in civilian transport roles across remote regions, island operations, and regional commuter networks. Aircraft such as N400JX highlight the continued importance of turboprop aircraft in modern aviation, especially for efficient short-haul connectivity in congested airspace markets. This 1:400 scale model captures the unique blend of private-jet-style service and regional turboprop efficiency. Perfect for collectors of modern commuter aircraft and boutique airline operations, this replica makes a standout display piece celebrating the evolution of short-haul air travel.
