Children of the Forest by Elsa Beskow is a full-size nature story from Floris Books. The root children live deep beneath an old pine tree, where they play hide-and-go-seek with squirrels in autumn and have snowball fights in winter. Each season brings new adventures.
Elsa Beskow was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1874. A pioneering children’s author and illustrator, she drew inspiration for her charming stories from her own childhood adventures and those of her six children.
Beskow’s books have been continually reprinted since their original publication dates. Children of the Forest is a classic favorite among Waldorf teachers and families, as well as one of her bestselling titles.
