Build the Level 3 Airfix Tiger I “Mid Version” tank as a 1/35 plastic model kit. The brand-new, officially licensed kit comes in vintage-style packaging and includes 200+ detailed parts. Parts are molded in light brown unless otherwise indicated, and decals are included to design the tank in 2 different schemes.
The assembled model measures approximately L-9.48, W-4.01 inches. Steel wheels, Zimmerit coating and battlefield accessories are included. A display stand is not included; paint and cement are required and sold separately. The manufacturer’s original packaging is unopened.
The Tiger I Mid Production Version emerged in 1943 with updates including steel road wheels, a redesigned commander’s cupola for improved visibility and an improved turret traverse mechanism. Mid Version Tigers fought at Kursk during Operation Citadel in July 1943, and later in Ukraine, Italy and Normandy. Increasingly used in defensive roles through late 1943 and 1944, they were formidable but faced limitations from their weight, fuel consumption and maintenance demands.
