The F-35C is the carrier-based variant of the fifth-generation F-35 family, designed for U.S. Navy carrier operations. Its larger wings, strengthened landing gear, folding wingtips and stealth characteristics support missions including air superiority, strike, reconnaissance and electronic warfare. Aircraft 169034 served with VFA-125, the Fleet Replacement Squadron based at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California, which trains F-35C pilots and maintainers.
In 2022, as the Navy expanded its F-35C force, aircraft 169034 contributed to training missions, carrier qualification exercises and tactical development programs. It was assigned to a training squadron and was not known to have participated directly in combat. The F-35 family has supported operational missions around the world, including intelligence gathering, precision strike and air defense. This replica captures the carrier-based Lightning II’s stealth profile for collections focused on modern military aviation and U.S. Navy aircraft.
