This officially licensed red steel model kit recreates the Lockheed Vega 5B monoplane Amelia Earhart purchased in 1932 and called her “Little Red Bus.” It features a detailed exterior and landing gear, and does not have any openings.
The kit includes 54 parts and has a moderate difficulty level. No glue or paint is required, though tweezers or similar tools are recommended. Assembled dimensions are approximately L-6.5, W-4, H-1.5 inches. The product is supplied in a brand-new box.
The Lockheed Vega 5B was powered by a 450 hp engine and had a cruise speed of 155 mph. In 1932, Earhart became the first woman to fly nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean and to make a solo nonstop flight across the United States.
